by Londo111 inhttp://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/bible/244916/1/the-1260-days-no-witnesses-were-harmed-in-the-making-of-this-prophesy.
as we were discussing in the above thread, the watchtower has yet to demonstrate the basic use of a calendar or arithmetic in regard the 1260 days.
they are a month off.. .

What is the WT's current stance on the age of the earth?
by popcorn_eater inthe reason i ask is i remember reading quite recently, in i think an "awake" mag about creation, that other churches confuse people by insisting on young earth creationism, which causes people to lose their faith.
the magazine was going off on groups and churches who insist on teaching science that conflicts with the bible (....).
i thought the wt was a proponent of this young earth creationism as well.

Sunday July 31 WatchTower article on disfellowshipping
by Malachi Elijah ini am confused about the tactic of the sunday wt article.
it seems to be talking about staying loyal to jehovah when chased by enemies and then it turns it around to saying stay loyal to jehovah by accepting elder decisions on who to disfellowship.
the odd thing about it, is that david was chased in two different ways, by his son who wanted to usurp his throne.

The Ancient Jewish CROSS and the ancient Hebrew letter Taw
by brit-93108 inthe ancient jewish cross by al garza phd is a groundbreaking book just published by createspace (isbn-13: 978-1461133896; april 27, 2011).. i'm about to order this book because it means a lot to me personally.
i was completely unaware of the history or meaning of ancient hebrew letter taw.
shaped like a cross and avoided by various jewish rabbi today due to its ties to jesus christ's death since his execution, taw is a pictorgraph used prior to babylonian captivity meaning "mark," "sign," "covenant," "seal," or more specifically, "sign, covenant, and seal of yhwh god" -- and fulfilled when jesus the messiah finalized the covenant on it through his blood so that we could have eternal life.. is the cross jewish or pagan?

he was always so busy writting and preparing for talks.

by Bucholz inwell, as i mentioned before in one of my few other posts, i've been lurking here for some time now and finally decided it was time to face the facts and take action.. i was raised a jw (4th generation) and my parents were quite zealous when they got married.
mom was a regular pioneer and dad was a ms. i was the little jw 'rockstar' in my congregation, got baptized at 10, was giving talks and serving as an attendant at the hall and at conventions at such an early age.

Egibi Banking Tablest - of which The Watchtower has never mentioned - why?
by VM44 inthe egibi tablets are contemporary (that is, they were written at the time) documents containing the records of the babylonian egibi bank over the time period of the neo-babylonian kings, 606 - 482 b.c.. these detailed records, the first of which was discovered in 1874, five years before the first issue of the watch tower magazine appeared, should have been of great interest to anyone who wanted to establish the reigns of the babylonian kings.. however, the watchtower has never mentioned the name egibi in any of its publications over the last 130 years!.
the watchtower has completely ignored this source of information!.
book: 'das egibi-archiv, i: die felder und garten,' vol.
